Chapter 7 - This part is important, it comes up again later.

A messenger arrived at the King’s camp. They had unpacked all of the equipment off Gappy and had set up camp on the frozen banks of the River Perilous. The King was meditating out on a mountain peak overlooking the camp, so he saw the messenger boy run up to his tent. He smiled.

He climbed down off the mountain peak and snuck up behind the messenger boy as the kid entered his tent looking for him. He grabbed the kid from behind and clasped his wooden hand over the kid’s mouth, then laughed.
“Value your life more, kid!” He said, like a father would. The kid didn’t have a father, though, so he was just scared, and it took a long time for the King to get his message out of him.

The King ran from his tent, threw the messenger boy to the ground and went very quickly to Colonel Glowfist’s tent. The Colonel was not asleep either, as he had been chewing on the thousands of birds ever since he had magicked them into his mouth several days before. The Colonel looked up at the King, his eyes wide. ‘What is wrong, dear friend?’ asked his eyes. He had seen the messenger boy too, because of his wisdom and his magic, so he knew that stuff was up.

“Terrorthaw has escaped.” Said the King, solemnly. “He’s my nemesis.”
But the Colonel already knew that. He and the King had fought Terrorthaw to a standstill on that fateful week in the Malaysian hills.
“mw’s mnna ppn?” said Colonel Glowfist through his mouthful of birds. He meant, “What’s going to happen?”
“I don’t know.” Said the King. He was nervous, but didn’t show it. All he did was do coin tricks without even looking. He made the coin disappear, he made it reappear. He made it look like it had split in half and both halves had rolled up his arms and burrowed into his armpits.
“Thaff agu’ ‘rick.” Said Colonel Glowfist.
“Thanks.” Said the King.
